When the words don't flow or they fail to come altogether, art and creation is my path to truth. For some, words are their form of expression, but for some, like myself, it is in the visual form, that artistic expression is most natural. It is a slight paradox attempting to write an artist statement that best describes my wearable art and creative practice; however, I'll do my best. Jewellery making and wearable art is my medium of choice because we, the wearer, become part of the artwork and the gallery, all at once.

My jewellery pieces and the whole meditative making process reflect my own inner journey and beliefs, spiritual connection, nature and architecture, energetics, mindset, emotion and the heart, psychology, and often themes around memory and time, and the wisdom gained from past experiences. Experiences such as loss, grief, challenges and joy. I seek inspiration from everything around us and within us. Art and creation is a healing of sorts and can be such a valuable tool to enhance and support life in the now and accentuate who we already are.

Along with various metals, often my work incorporates the use of textiles, in particular lace, that I print onto metal; or techniques such as crocheting, knitting and weaving in fine silver or other materials, as well as including ceramics and found objects. To me, I suppose these themes, materials, mediums and techniques reference the interwoven connection between all of life, multiple lifetimes of stories and the memories that the stories hold. You will rarely see my work highly polished, more so hand beaten and textured, representing the Wabi Sabi (perfectly imperfect) nature of human beings and life itself, while also being a homage to the past and how each moment is stamped in time, bringing us back to the present.
