Baby Steps

"It's the little moments that make life big!" - Kobi Yamada

2019 has been such a big, crazy, inspiring year for me, but from the outside looking in, I haven’t achieved huge milestones. However I know there has been so much learning creatively and business wise going on. At times it has been a challenge to stay aligned with the highest version of myself and still maintain some kind of balance between creativity, work, family and personal life. Deep down I could feel something within me shifting and I felt like it was the right time to gain some creative momentum.

Sometime in February or March this year I started seeing social media posts about BSchool by Marie Forleo again and this time I knew I would enroll. She has been a huge inspiration to me for quite some time and I often binge watch her You Tube Videos and interviews with other awesome entrepreneurs. I didn’t know how or whether I could really justify the expense of the online marketing and business school, but that I was going to make it happen!

Last year I remember researching reviews and seeing some not so positive comments about the course and mentioning that I wanted to enroll to my husband. He was not very receptive to the idea or the cost either. I must have had a fair bit of resistance on my path and didn’t feel like it was the right time, so I put the dream aside.

This year however, I didn’t even offer it up as a choice, rather I mentioned it (with complete excitement and alignment) as though I had already made up my mind and I was doing it! This was it!! Low and behold, he was completely on board. Funny how a change in our own energy can be the catalyst for cooperation from other people and attracting what we want!

Creating my Vision

Take a peek inside my Wonderworld

Rewind to the beginning of the year; I made a big beautiful vision board with all of my personal dreams and desires. I put focus on the feelings and the energy that each dream would encompass rather than the specific manifestations (just like all of the self development texts talk about). Ultimately, this is what we are all striving for in the end; that feeling; the emotion! Included on my board was an interview with Marie Forleo and Danielle LaPorte (another of my inspirational mentors). I would look at it every morning (still do) and feel my dreams manifesting, even if I didn’t know how they would show up. Vision boards aren’t magic, manifestation isn’t magic (well I guess it depends on your perspective), but I believe it’s all about the intention and the focus that can determine our journey.

Fast forward a few months and I have completed the live BSchool 8 week course and finished all of the modules. I am still working through implementing everything I have learnt and watching the extra Bonus content. There is so much value in the course (some people say it’s been more valuable than their completed MBA) and I have access for life, so I am just taking my time and going with the flow.

The interesting thing is, I enrolled in BSchool through Danielle LaPorte (remember the interview on my vision board), having no idea I would enroll through her affiliate link. I discovered Danielle LaPorte a few years ago when I was listening to an ‘Inspiration Bomb’ audio by Big Hearted Business founded by Claire Bowditch (fellow Aussie Gal). I was instantly inspired by her words and energy and went out to buy both of her books The Fire Starter Sessions and The Desire Map. I completely fell in love with her work!

Now I am excited to say I have very recently become a Desire Map and Fire Starter Sessions Facilitator and I continue to learn so many wonderful personal development and spiritual tools that compliment my current work from a soulful and heart centred place as a Visual Artist and Contemporary Jeweller. Keep an eye out for my Desire Map Workshops coming soon! I can’t wait to share them with you!

I just keep on learning new things every day with my business and it keeps me inspired constantly. Some days I make absolutely no progress (family and life commitments always come first) and yet my mind wont stop racing with ideas. I just keep taking little baby steps forward and making whatever progress I can. ‘Progress over perfection’ – Marie Forleo

Let me know in the comments below about the things, people or projects you are inspired by at the moment! I would love to get to know you all!!
